At Earthroute, we design artisan-centric clothing, home textiles and textile accessories. We are all about easy, relaxed dressing because we think it is an important facet of life. All our collections have more classic and trans-seasonal clothing with ergonomic details for everyday comfort. Earthroute textiles are handwoven in the weaving pockets of Bengal. Our embroideries are exclusively handmade by our team of artisans using techniques and skills that are decades old. All our products – clothes, home textiles and accessories – are hand-finished by our team of largely women artisans in Kolkata.

EarthRoute is proudly ‘Made in India’ and more than happy to travel all over the world.

The Earthroute studio is in the City of Joy, Kolkata, where we conduct our sampling and consciously engage in mindful manufacturing across different processes.

Who are we: Our Vision & Mission

‘EarthRoute’ is the Earth Way, it is a way of life for many for us living on the planet and loving it as we love animate beings.

EarthRoute is a humane, transparent, and artisan-centric fashion and lifestyle brand.

We believe in Zero Wastage because we see wastage as loss tending towards disintegration. We love the Earth and would like to nurture it with our collective effort.

We are one of the very few clothing brands in India that cater to a global market creating high fashion wear while maintaining a zero-wastage mechanism.

We are passionate about working hand-in- hand with our team of talented artisan communities across the country to create beautiful designs that we take to our global fashion aficionados.

We are strongly committed to building a successful eco-fashion environment by following a fair and transparent supply chain mechanism.

We aim at building a triple bottom line organization, working in harmony with our social and environmental settings.

We believe in creating authentic and timeless products that have a story to tell-a story of the land and its people.

Great quality, exclusive content

The dress I got from EarthRoute is extremely soft and comfortable. I washed it so many times but the colour of the dress is still intact. It feels new every time. It is flowy and so summery, and the detailed embroidery on it is so so beautiful and cute. I guess that is the reason why handwoven and handmade clothes are so unique!

Wow quality products!

Wow! Just Wow quality products! Bought so many clothing items from them that I have lost count. When I crave handwoven clothing, only one name comes to mind and that is EarthRoute. The service is lovely and the best part is that they customize so I don’t have to worry about the size of the product.

Idea behind the Idea: Reviving our traditional arts and crafts

At Earthroute, we believe in sustainable eco fashion that creates and leaves less carbon footprints. We believe in working closely with rural artisans to create a strong team that grows together for a better future.

Handicraft is at the core of our aesthetics. So, anything that we create at Earthroute has craft associated with it.

EarthRoute believes passionately in reviving traditional crafts that include our beautiful Indian textiles, surface ornamentation techniques, and other time-tested and appreciated techniques.

Every product we design and create is essentially artisan centric. We work as a team with skilled artisans of our country, all the while having a special focus on women empowerment.  We enable this by not only providing sustained work but also imparting the necessary training and skills to take their craft to the next level.

Along with working with skilled artisans, we also train and educate unskilled and semi-skilled artisans to bring them under the same symbiotic umbrella.

Earthroute’s core objective is 100% Make in India, and we are proud of it.

Surface texture development and embroidery play a major role in our design process. Therefore, Kantha, applique or patch work, beadwork and such forms constitute a significant part of our product range.

Varied dyeing process like batik and tie-n-dye with natural dye material follow the safe norms for an eco-friendly business structure. This is again at the core of our design ethos. We choose to follow it conscientiously.

We believe in recycling and upcycling of products. Most of our planned designs for accessories and gift items are created out of production surplus and upcycled materials. We merge our technical product knowledge and design aesthetics with traditional skills of our artisans to create beautiful, unique, and ergonomic products. This process is not only creatively challenging but also engages the maximum number of artisans and creates a sustainable livelihood for them.

Together as a team, we work on common personality traits like responsibility, organisation, adherence to norms and rules that go into creating a gentler environment. At Earthroute, we like to think we are hard-working and goal-directed being a small team of like-thinking, dedicated individuals.

We sustain on all things handmade and real – our clothes, yarn, fabric, dye, and our dreams that quiver with the potential of coming true.

We treasure the beings and the hands that stitch and embellish Earthroute garment and hold onto one other firmly.

We believe in eco-fashion that is essentially about slow and ethical fashion.

At Earthroute, we work with handmade artisanal fabrics. Hand spun and handwoven are not just words for us but mantras that go on to grow and create a sustainable future for everyone.

We support indigenous (Desi) cotton farming.

We are keen to preserve dying and near-extinct Indian handicrafts and recreate the rich heritage of handicrafts on wearables, creating modern wearable art.

We love to concentrate on human-centric design that will contribute to a world where fashion and sustainability are no longer seen as a paradox.

We aim at building a triple bottom-line organisation, working harmoniously with our social and environmental settings.

We believe in creating authentic products that have a story to tell- a story of the land and its people.

And that’s why we believe that Earthroute is an initiative and a continual work in progress. Because together we stitch lives, our own and through the process we endeavour to sprinkle beauty, harmony, and joy to thousands of our customers’ lives year-on-year. If you are happy with an Earthroute garment, we are genuinely happy too. And through it all, we believe we’re making Mother Earth happy as well.
